Mohali (Punjab), March 22, 2026: A seminar on peace organised at Plaksha University in collaboration with Rotary International highlighted the urgent need to promote harmony in an increasingly conflict-driven world.
Delivering the keynote address, senior IAS officer (Retired) Sarvesh Kaushal stressed that “civilisational peace” must be consciously nurtured to counter what he described as the default human tendency towards conflict, aggression, and toxic competition.
He warned that unchecked conflict often manifests as hatred, jealousy, and social division.
Emphasising the role of young people, Kaushal urged the youth to stay informed and make responsible choices, noting that their decisions today will shape the world they inherit. “We must focus on the ray of peace to rise above the noise of conflict,” he said.
