Chandigarh, November 19: Enthused by the spectacular victory in the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Elections and taking the control of Gurudwaras in the National Capital, the Shiromani Akali Dal in alliance with BJP has focused its eyes on the reins of the Delhi State Government. Following the footsteps of patron of Shiromani Akali Dal Parkash Singh Badal, the president of SAD Sukhbir Singh Badal has called a meeting of all senior leaders of the party in Delhi at the residence on November 22 in the morning to chalk out the strategy for winning Delhi Assembly Polls slated for December 4, 2013. It is likely that all the rank and file of the Shiromani Akali Dal will march to National Capital on November 21 evening to report their political masters in the morning at 10 AM. The headquarter of the Punjab Government will therefore likely to be in Delhi till the Assembly Elections are over. It will remind the State Political scenario in Chandigarh as was during DSGMC elections held in January this year. Sukhbir Badal who has established his credibility as a political strategist for winning elections in the past occasions is fully confident to oust Congress Government from Delhi. It is learnt that he has already prepared the ground in consultation with other like-minded parties and their leaders to take on the Congress party through effective campaigning and door to door canvassing to give a befitting defeat to the opponents as in the DSGMC elections. Like his father and Guru in politics Parkash Singh Badal, Sukhbir Badal has also proved as hard task political master with leadership qualities and putting the right persons at right places to garner the votes and impress the voters in favour of Akali Dal. His political agenda foresees ramifications of taking the reins of Delhi State Govt. on the coming Lok Sabha Elections early next year. He is learnt to have opined in political circles that if the power in Delhi State Government is captured, it will be convenient, prudent & beneficial in many ways to form the NDA Government at the Centre. Political observers feel that despite the best efforts being made by Sheila Dixit under the leadership of Sonia, Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi, the SAD-BJP alliance is posing a serious challenge to the Congress. The common people, it is being felt, are fed up with the rising prices of essential commodities and failure of Congress Government in the Centre and Delhi State to check inflation. A number of scandals during Congress regime have also become a major tool in the hands of opposition to influence the voters. Sukhbir Badal has learnt the art of exploiting such weak points of the Congress and hopes to get thumping majority in the Delhi Assembly Polls. The time will only tell who is the winner and loser but one thing is clear that the Shiromani Akali Dal, though a regional party, has been able to spread its wings in the National Political Scene with identity and standing.
