In a heartfelt initiative aimed at addressing the grave issue of drug abuse in Punjab, prominent BJP leader and Member of Parliament, Bansuri Swaraj, made a significant visit to Jhunir, a locality in Mansa district, on September 23. This visit forms a crucial part of the BJP’s ongoing ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’, a campaign dedicated to eradicating drug abuse in the region.
During her visit, Bansuri Swaraj engaged with families who have been directly impacted by the devastating effects of drug addiction. Approximately 23–24 mothers and family members who have lost loved ones to drug-related tragedies had the opportunity to share their personal stories and grievances with Swaraj. Her empathetic approach provided much-needed solace to these bereaved families, as she listened intently to their experiences and offered them words of consolation and support.
Accompanying Swaraj on this poignant visit was BJP leader Ashutosh, who highlighted the importance of this personal interaction. “She is meeting around 23–24 mothers and family members of affected families. She is consoling them and listening to their woes,” Ashutosh remarked, emphasizing the sincerity and dedication with which Swaraj approached the task.
The ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’ represents a broader effort by the BJP to address the rampant issue of drug abuse across Punjab. By touring various parts of the state and directly engaging with affected families, party leaders are not only raising awareness but also expressing solidarity with those who have borne the brunt of this crisis.
