Breaking: Punjab Kabaddi player dies of heart attack during tournament

Sangrur (Punjab), November 8, 2025: In a tragic incident, well-known Punjab kabaddi player Bittu Balial passed away after suffering a heart attack during a tournament at Rupaheri village in Fatehgarh Sahib district on Saturday.
According to his teammates, Bittu, a resident of Balial village in Bhawanigarh, Sangrur district, had been battling heart disease for some time and had three stents implanted. Doctors had reportedly advised him to stop playing, warning that physical exertion could pose a serious threat to his life.
However, due to financial hardship, Bittu continued to play despite the risks. His friends said he had no other source of income, and playing kabaddi was his only means of livelihood.
Bittu is survived by his wife and sister. His parents and brother had passed away earlier. The sudden death of the talented player has left the kabaddi fraternity and sports community in deep mourning across Punjab.
