CBSA-CGC Landran organizes Budgetcon’26 strengthening academia-industry interface
Mohali, 18 Feb 2026- The MBA Department of Chandigarh Business School of Administration (CBSA), CGC Landran, organized 'Budgetcon’26 - Policy to Pocket,' a two-day event designed to examine the Union Budget 2026 and its impact across major sectors of the economy. With participation from more than 300 students of B.Com, BBA and MBA programs, the initiative aimed to build economic awareness and strengthen policy understanding among CBSA students. The inaugural session opened with the ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by a welcome address from Prof. (Dr.) Ramandeep Saini, Director Principal, CBSA Landran, who noted, “Budget literacy is not just about numbers; it is about understanding the nation’s priorities and preparing our students to contribute meaningfully to India’s economic journey.” Day one of the event featured a Budget Analysis Presentation Competition where 14 teams comprising CBSA students, presented sector-wise insights across Healthcare & Pharmaceutical, Defence & Energy, MSME & Small Business, Tourism & Hospitality, and Manufacturing & Transportation. The competition enhanced students’ analytical abilities and practical understanding of fiscal policy. The winners were Anmol, Khushi, and Aradhana (MSME & Small Business) securing first place, Amrita Kumari, Ritesh Kumar, and Aditika Salaria (Healthcare & Pharmaceutical) bagging the second position and Paras Dhiman, Samar,and Nidhi (Manufacturing & Transportation) winning the third position. Day two featured an insightful Panel Discussion which brought together distinguished industry experts who shared valuable insights on India’s fiscal positioning and future growth strategies. The panelists included Mr. Hitesh Dewan, Zonal Head at Fino Payments Bank; Mr. Keshav Khullar, Business Research Analyst at Finvasia Securities Private Limited; Mr. Arpit Garg, Managing Director of Chester Hills Group; Mr. Harpal Singh, Chairman of the Institute of Professional Banking; and Mr. Vikramjit Singh Sandhu, Senior Producer and Anchor at Daily Post. Their perspectives enriched the dialogue, which explored India’s fiscal positioning in the global economy, MSME reforms, sectoral growth strategies and the roadmap towards Viksit Bharat 2047, while also emphasizing the Orange Economy and innovation-driven sectors. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Rakhee Dewan, HoD, MBA,CBSA, who acknowledged the contributions of the panelists, faculty and students. The conference strengthened the academia-industry connection, transforming policy discussions into actionable insights and equipping CBSA students with sharper analytical abilities, strategic vision and economic awareness.
