Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur announced that, in celebration of International Women's Day on March 8, 2026, PSRLM will honour entrepreneurial women at the state level. This celebration aims to recognize the achievements and contributions of women in business and innovation, highlighting their role in driving economic growth and inspiring future generations. The event underscores the importance of empowering women and fostering an inclusive environment where their entrepreneurial spirit can thrive
She mentioned that the event would take place not only at the state level but also at district and block/constituency levels, with plans to recognize 100 entrepreneurial women from each block/constituency within the district.
Further, she clarified that details about eligibility, criteria, and application forms can be accessed through the BDPO office for rural areas and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate's office for urban areas. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply accordingly.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) announced the business categories chosen for recognition, which include Farm to Kitchen, Service to Self-Reliance for service sector entrepreneurs, Digital Sisters for tech-enabled and online ventures, Green Warriors for eco-friendly, sustainable, and recycling enterprises, First-Emerging Women covering youth, self-help groups, and first-generation entrepreneurs, Job Creators focusing on women-generated employment opportunities, Art Creators for art, craft, design, and handmade businesses, Health and Wellness Entrepreneurs specializing in care, wellness, nutrition, and therapy, Education and Training Entrepreneurs dedicated to learning and development, Social Impact Champions for community-driven and purpose-oriented enterprises, and the overarching "30 Under 30" category.
Avneet shared that a total of 100 women, chosen from those selected at the block or constituency level, will be recognized and honored during a special event at the district level.
Additionally, out of the women acknowledged at the district level, 20 outstanding women entrepreneurs will be further selected and celebrated at the state level to highlight their accomplishments and contributions.
