Cultural Programme under “Phagotsav–Sanskrit Yatra” in Ferozepur on March 8
Ferozepur, March 7, 2026: A colourful cultural programme will be organised in Ferozepur on March 8 under the “Phagotsav–Sanskrit Yatra” initiative by the North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Government of India), in collaboration with the district administration. The event will take place at the Mela Ground near Sheetla Mata Mandir in Ferozepur Cantonment.
According to Senior Programme Officer Ravinder Sharma, the Sanskrit Yatra being held from March 6 to 12 will feature folk artists from various states including Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand. The artists will present vibrant folk dances and cultural performances showcasing the traditions of their respective states.
Punjabi folk singer Aman Rozi will also perform and enthrall the audience with her melodious folk songs. The programme, scheduled at 4 pm on March 8, will also be a special attraction on the concluding day of the “Sakhi Shakti Mela” being organised by the district administration from March 6 to 8.
The event aims to promote cultural exchange and highlight India’s rich and diverse cultural heritage while spreading a message of unity and brotherhood.
