Chandigarh, February 28, 2025: The Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association (HCBA) is holding elections today, with seven candidates in the race for the prestigious position of president. Approximately 5,000 advocates are expected to cast their votes to elect the new office-bearers, including the president of the HCBA.

Kuljeet Singh Sidhu, who is the president of the election committee and also the returning officer informed Babushahi that till Lunchtime, nearly 2400 votes had been polled.The electrifying atmosphere was witnessed at the premises of the High court today.
The presidential candidates include prominent names such as Vikas Malik, Sartej Singh Narula, Anil Pal Singh Shergill, Ravinder Singh Randhawa, Chouhan Satvinder Singh Sisodia, Nirbhay Garg, and Dr. Kanu Sharma.

Each candidate has outlined their vision for the association, with key promises focusing on improved financial assistance for members, upgrades to facilities, and enhanced support for women practitioners.
The election is being closely watched as the new leadership will play a crucial role in addressing the concerns of the legal community and shaping the future of the HCBA. The results are expected to be announced shortly after the voting concludes at 4 pm.
