Punjab Cabinet revives 16 CDPO posts to boost Women & Child Welfare
Babushahi Bureau
Chandigarh, November 15, 2025 — In a major administrative boost to frontline welfare services, the Punjab Cabinet has approved the revival of 16 vacant posts of Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) for recruitment through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC).
The government said the move is crucial for the effective implementation of key state and central schemes related to social security, women’s welfare, and child development. CDPOs serve as the primary officers responsible for executing flagship programmes under ICDS, POSHAN, and Social Security & Women Welfare at the block level.
The revival of these posts will help bridge staffing gaps, strengthen field monitoring, and ensure proper compliance with programme norms, enabling smoother delivery of nutrition, health, and welfare services to beneficiaries across Punjab.
