Chandigarh, April 22, 2026: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging the documentary series “Lawrence of Punjab”, which is reportedly based on the life of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
The petition has been moved by Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, who has raised objections over the content and intent of the series, particularly its potential to glorify criminal elements.
The controversy gains significance in the backdrop of the high-profile murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022, in which Lawrence Bishnoi has been named as the alleged mastermind.
