Chandigarh reports 1294 new COVID cases and 2 deaths

Chandigarh, January 20, 2022:
Chandigarh reported 1294 new COVID-19 positive cases on Thursday. Two deaths due to COVID were also reported in the last 24 hours.
As per the information released by the health department, UT Chandigarh, the total number of active cases in Chandigarh stands at 9922.
In the last 24 hours, the department has tested 6705 samples. As per the figure, 1095 deaths have been reported in Chandigarh due to COVID-19 to date.
Likewise, the total number of patients who have tested positive to date stands at 82563.

Discharged Patients:-
Today 1336 patients have been discharged including persons from home isolation who have completed 7 days and are asymptomatic, as per MoHFW guidelines.
COVID Deaths:-
- A 67 year old COVID positive female resident of Sector 30, a case of Heart Disease and Kidney disease expired at PGI. She was not vaccinated for COVID.
- A 21 year old female resident of Sector 20, a case of acute leukemia and metabolic acidosis expired at GMSH sector 16. She was not vaccinated for COVID.
