Former Civil Surgeon makes 102nd blood donation to commemorate Martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi.

The former civil surgeon and eminent social worker associated with the cause of voluntary blood donation,Dr Ajay Bagga,
made his 102nd donation.
While donating blood, Dr. Bagga, who is 63- 1/2 years old, said that the donation was dedicated to the martyrdom day of Gandhi Ji.
Dr. Bagga while remembering his father' s martyrdom during militancy in Punjab, further disclosed that his late father,Om Parkash Bagga, former MLA and socialist idealoge was gunned down by the terrorists on 2nd June 1984. His bullet ridden dead body propelled him towards blood donation and made it a way of life.
" We should adopt the principle of non violence of Gandhi ji and blood should flow in veins & not in drains" said Dr.Bagga while exhorting all healthy individuals between 18-65 years of age to make blood donation a way of life so that life of the patients admitted in hospitals for shortage of blood can be prolonged. Apart from this, Blood donation helps in strengthening brotherhood & national integration.
