Amritsar, May 22, 2024: In a meeting of intellectuals held today at the residence of senior BJP leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina in Amritsar, BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh talked about various policies and decisions taken by the Modi government at the Center in favor of Punjab in general and the Sikh community in particular.
Addressing principals of various educational institutions, mainly from Khalsa institutions, Chugh said that Prime Minister Modi has special respect for the Sikhs, who are brave and committed to the welfare of mankind. He said that the PM respects Sikh Gurus and has unwavering faith in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Chugh said that there is no possibility that PM Modi will not pay obeisance at any Sikh pilgrimage site and Gurudwara on the occasion of Gurupurab and special events related to Sikh history and culture.On this occasion, he also distributed a booklet “PM Modi and his government have a special relationship with Sikhs”.
The booklet highlights the Modi government's outreach program concerning promoting Sikh history, heritage, and culture.
Chugh said that be it FCRA registration for Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar, tax-free langar, the inauguration of Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, and celebration of 550th Prakash Purb of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Modi government is committed to it. To promote the teachings of Guru Sahibs and celebrate various events related to the history and culture of the Sikhs.
BJP national general secretary Chugh along with Chhina, party leaders Sushil Devgan and others said the central government is committed to promoting the teachings of Sahib Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji regarding his philosophy of universal brotherhood, world peace and embracing the path of righteousness.
He also talked about several other decisions and initiatives taken by the Modi government for the Sikh community and the state of Punjab.
Chugh also highlighted the reduction of blacklisting of Sikh NRIs by the Modi government, which has benefited many Sikh NRIs living abroad in the United States, Britain, Canada and other countries.
He said that his visit to India has become possible due to the amendment in the list.
