Mandeep Kumar Monty re-elected as President Press Club Ferozepur for third time
Vows to Uphold Journalistic Ethics and Strengthen the Club’s Voice
Ferozepur, May 1, 2025: Prominent TV journalist Mandeep Kumar Monty of News18 has again been elected as the President of the Ferozepur Press Club for 2025-26. Monty secured victory over his rival Malkit Singh in a closely contested election by a margin of 11 votes, marking his third term as president.
Outgoing President Kamal Malhotra congratulated Monty on his re-election and shared that the Press Club follows an annual election tradition. He expressed gratitude to the executive members and club associates for their support throughout the year, also offering apologies for any shortcomings during his tenure.
The election process was conducted democratically and transparently. Out of 44 registered members, 43 cast their votes. Mandeep Monty received 27 votes, while Malkit Singh garnered 16.
In his post-election address, Monty said, “Being entrusted with this responsibility for the third time is a great honour. I will ensure that every member’s voice is heard and justice prevails for all. My top priority will be the welfare and development of the club.”
He further added, “I am committed to upholding the ethics and standards of journalism. Along with my new team, we aim to elevate the activities of the Press Club to greater heights. We will welcome new ideas and suggestions to make the club a strong and meaningful platform for all journalists.”
On the distinction of being elected for a third term, Mandeep Kumar Monty began receiving congratulatory messages from all sections of society, including fellow journalists, political leaders, and members of the district administration.
