Railway launches special ticket checking drive, collects over ₹1 Crore in fines
Ferozepur, May 1, 2025: Under the directives of the Railway Headquarters, Ferozepur Division has launched a special ticket checking campaign, which began on April 22 and will continue until May 21, 2025. The drive is being conducted under the supervision of Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Sanjay Sahu and led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr. DCM) Mr. Parmdeep Singh Saini.
So far, the campaign has resulted in the checking of over 15,000 passengers, and more than ₹1 crore in revenue has been collected through fines imposed on ticketless and irregular travellers. The inspections are being carried out on major trains including Malwa Superfast Express, Amrapali Express, Amritsar-Howrah Mail, Begampura Express, Saharsa Garib Rath Express, Jammu Tawi Express, and Sachkhand Express.
Sr. DCM Parmdeep Singh Saini commended the dedicated efforts of the ticket checking staff and the execution of the drive. He appealed to passengers to travel with valid tickets, maintain orderly boarding and deboarding practices, use digital payment options enabled with QR codes, avoid carrying flammable items, use Foot Over Bridges (FOBs) to change platforms, and carry valid identification during travel.
The ticket checking drive will continue across all railway routes within the division.
