Ludhiana (Punjab), May 3, 2025: Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora flagged off a Free FibroScan Liver Test Mobile Van from his office at Sarabha Nagar on Saturday.
Speaking to the media after the flag-off ceremony, Arora stated that the mobile van will visit various areas of the city to provide free liver tests, which are typically very expensive in private healthcare settings.
He emphasised that this initiative is a completely private venture aimed at serving humanity without any commercial motive.Arora shared that the van will reach every ward of the city, and its visit will be publicised in advance with the assistance of the respective municipal councilors.
The initiative has been launched with the active support of local philanthropist Chamkaur Singh.
"If this first van proves successful, more such vans will be deployed," Arora added. He informed that anyone can avail of the liver test, provided they have not eaten anything three to four hours prior, as the test requires an empty stomach. The test reports will be provided on the spot.
He appealed to the public to take maximum benefit of the service, noting that the van is expected to conduct 70–80 tests daily. “I pray that all results turn out negative,” he said. Arora also mentioned the possibility of launching similar vans for general health check-ups in the future.
Many area councillors and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders were present at the event.
It may be mentioned here that a FibroScan test is a non-invasive method to assess liver health. It measures the stiffness of the liver by detecting the speed of a vibration (pulse) traveling through it, helping identify liver conditions such as fibrosis.
