High alert, blackout in Ambala, Sirsa, and Chandigarh; missile debris found in Sirsa sparks panic (Posted at 10:54 pm, May 10)

Chandigarh/Ambala/Sirsa, May 10, 2025: Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan and repeated ceasefire violations, the administrations in Haryana’s Ambala and Sirsa districts have taken strict security measures.
A complete blackout has been enforced in both districts from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM until further notice. Meanwhile, residents in Chandigarh have voluntarily started observing a blackout as a precautionary measure.
On Friday evening, both countries had agreed to a ceasefire, but Pakistan violated it by opening fire along the border, escalating the situation further. In response, local authorities have tightened security arrangements.
Ambala on High Alert, Full Blackout Enforced
Fearing potential aerial attacks from Pakistan, Ambala authorities have put the district on high alert. District Magistrate Ajay Singh Tomar issued strict orders, stating: “All external lights, billboards, and streetlights will remain switched off during the night. Citizens are advised to stay indoors and remain vigilant.”
Special security measures are in place in the Ambala Cantonment area, home to a key Indian Air Force base.Army and police deployments have been ramped up to ensure rapid response in case of an emergency.
Sirsa on Edge After Missile Debris Found, Drone Ban Imposed
In Sirsa, the security situation became more alarming after debris from a suspected Pakistani missile was found Saturday morning in the Rania Chungi Khajakhera and Firozabad Chaksahiba areas.
The discovery followed loud explosions heard late Friday night, triggering panic among locals.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Lakshit Sareen informed the media, “All drone flights in the district are strictly banned. Residents have been instructed to stay indoors at night, switch off all lights, and immediately report any suspicious activity to authorities.”
The missile debris has been handed over to Indian Air Force officials for investigation to determine its origin and intent.
Voluntary Blackout in Chandigarh
Although the Chandigarh administration has not issued official blackout orders, residents have voluntarily begun observing a blackout in view of the tense situation. Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and follow any instructions issued during emergencies.

The administrations of Ambala, Sirsa, and Chandigarh have appealed to citizens not to panic but to remain alert. People have been asked to ignore rumors and rely only on official updates.
