SSP Sidhu interacts with students, highlights ill effects of drugs
Ferozepur, October 9, 2025: To spread awareness against drug abuse among students, the District Police organized a Drug Abuse Awareness Camp at DCMI School, where SSP Bhupinder Singh Sidhu participated as the chief guest. The seminar, held at Bajwa Auditorium, was attended by students of Classes IX and X. Principal Anuradha Chandel welcomed the SSP and briefed him about the facilities being provided to the students by the school.
Addressing the students, SSP Sidhu emphasized that eliminating the menace of drugs is essential to ensure Punjab’s progress and prosperity. He urged the youth to play a proactive role, highlighting that addiction often begins at a young age with small habits, eventually turning into a serious problem. He advised students to create awareness in their surroundings and report drug abuse or trafficking to the police, so that addicts can be treated in hospitals and drug peddlers brought to justice.
SSP informed that the Punjab Government and Punjab Police are running a large-scale campaign against drugs, reaching out to schools and villages to educate people. He added that Ferozepur Police is actively working to make the district drug-free by carrying out frequent drug seizures, and called for collective support from society in this mission.
During the session, SSP Sidhu also interacted with students and answered their queries.
