High-Speed Math Challenge: SIP Punjab Prodigy contestants solve 325 sums in just 11 min

Chandigarh, October 12, 2025: Hundreds of young math enthusiasts showcased extraordinary mental agility this Sunday at the SIP Punjab Prodigy 2025 competition in the Tricity, with advanced-level participants attempting 325 arithmetic problems in just 11 minutes—a remarkable display of focus, speed, and cognitive skill.
The 13th edition of the Punjab SIP Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Competition attracted over 1,250 students aged 7 to 14 from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and the Chandigarh Tricity region. The event, hosted by SIP Abacus, a network of more than 25 learning centres, is considered the flagship mental maths contest in the region.

The ceremony was graced by Professor Jatinder Grover, former Dean, Faculty of Education, Panjab University, who lauded the participants for their discipline and concentration, encouraging them to continue learning with curiosity and determination.
Jagdeep Singh, State Head of SIP Punjab, said, “SIP Punjab Prodigy is more than a competition—it celebrates perseverance, skill, and the power of structured brain training. Watching these young minds solve hundreds of sums in minutes demonstrates the remarkable potential of focus and practice.”
The event also honoured 80 graduating students from SIP Abacus centres statewide for completing the Grand Masters program levels, highlighting consistent effort, confidence, and mastery.

The competition concluded with a lively awards ceremony, where parents and teachers applauded the young achievers. The celebration reinforced SIP Academy’s mission of ‘Making Children 5 Times Better’, fostering not just academic excellence but also confidence, discipline, and life skills.
