New Delhi, October 12, 2025: Renowned heart surgeon Dr Harinder Singh Bedi, Director of Cardiovascular Sciences at Park Hospital, Mohali, was felicitated for his outstanding contributions to cardiovascular medicine at a glittering ceremony held at Shangri-La Eros Hotel, New Delhi. The award was presented by Hon’ble Minister Ravinder Singh, Minister of Social Welfare, Cooperation, and Elections, New Delhi.
The recognition came as part of BEAT 2025 – Voice of Healthcare, which evaluated over 500 candidates and selected Dr Bedi for his pioneering role in beating heart surgery. This revolutionary procedure has significantly reduced surgical risks, lowered costs, and made complex heart operations more accessible to ordinary patients.
In addition to his work in beating heart surgery, Dr Bedi has made notable contributions in vascular and thoracic surgery, with several of his innovations featured three times in the Limca Book of World Records. He also spearheaded the Cardiovascular Surgical programme at Fortis Group in 2001, laying the foundation for advanced heart care in India.
At the event, other prominent figures in Indian cardiac care, including Dr Naresh Trehan, Dr Ashok Seth, and Dr TS Kler, were also present to honour the achievements of Dr Bedi.
