Chandigarh, October 17, 2025: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has demanded a thorough probe into the money trail in the case involving Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Harcharan Singh Bhullar, asking investigators to determine on whose behalf Bhullar was allegedly collecting ill-gotten wealth and where its proceeds were being transferred.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh, senior SAD leader Parambans Singh Romana said Punjabis deserve to know “where the looted money of Punjab’s people is going — whether it’s being used to fund election campaigns in other states or directly reaching AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal.”
Romana questioned the silence of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on the issue, stating that their lack of response “indicates they have a lot to hide.” He demanded that the CBI probe focus on uncovering the entire “corruption modus operandi” of what he termed the so-called “Kattar Imandaar Party.”
Asserting that the CBI raid and arrest of DIG Bhullar had exposed AAP’s real face, Romana alleged that “the government claiming zero tolerance toward corruption is, in fact, promoting and facilitating it.”
He also raised concerns over the failure of the Vigilance and Intelligence wings of the Punjab government to detect or act against Bhullar’s alleged activities. “The Chief Minister says not even a leaf moves without his knowledge. How then did crores of rupees change hands without his awareness? Is it because AAP’s blue-eyed officers are collecting bribes for the government?” Romana asked.
The SAD leader further claimed that the Vigilance Department was being misused to target opposition leaders, forcing the CBI to step in and investigate large-scale corruption and the alleged “sale of posts” to officers in Punjab.
Condemning CM Mann’s silence, Romana accused him of “indulging in public dramas and attacking the opposition while ignoring corruption in his own government.”
He also criticized Punjab Congress leaders, including Partap Singh Bajwa and Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, for not speaking out against the alleged multi-crore corruption involving DIG Bhullar.
“Earlier, the Chief Minister claimed in the Vidhan Sabha that he had proof of corruption by senior Congress leaders but took no action. This only shows a secret understanding between AAP and Congress,” Romana alleged.
Youth Akali Dal leader Sarabjit Singh Jhinjher was also present at the press conference.
