Two-day ‘Block-Level Primary School Sports Meet’ wrap-up with enthusiasm
Ferozepur, October 18, 2025: The two-day Block Satiye Wala Primary School Sports Meet, organized under the state-level Primary School Games 2025, concluded with great zeal at Surjit Memorial School playground, Mallwal Kadeem. The event was held under the guidance of District Education Officer (Elementary) Sunita Rani and Block Primary Education Officer Daljeet Kaur, with coordination by Centre Head Sande Hasham.
The meet began with an inauguration by Komal Arora, Deputy District Education Officer (Elementary), followed by Shabad Kirtan by students of School of Happiness, Bhangar. Addressing the participants, Arora highlighted that sports not only promote physical fitness but also instill leadership and sportsmanship among children.
Competitions were held in athletics, kabaddi, wrestling, kho-kho, football, yoga, chess, tug of war, long jump, and shot put. Gurmohik Singh, Kulveer Singh, and Parneet Kaur emerged as leading athletes in track events, while kabaddi, kho-kho, and football titles were claimed by teams from Mana Singh Wala, Sande Hasham, and Sher Khan respectively. Chess titles went to Mana Singh Wala, while Bajidpur and Mishri Wala schools excelled in yoga.
On the final day, winners were honored with medals by chief guest Komal Arora, along with Sarabjit Singh (APC, General Office, DEO Elementary) and Gagandeep Singh, Principal, Surjit Memorial School. A special tribute was also paid to the late Gurpreet Singh, with a memento presented to his wife Kanwaljit Kaur and their children.
