Chandigarh, October 27, 2025 – Padma Shri Pargat Singh, Secretary of the All India Congress Committee and MLA, has lauded the courage and resilience of Bibi Mahinder Kaur, following the apology tendered by Mandi (Himachal Pradesh) MP and actor Kangana Ranaut before a Bathinda court on Monday.
Pargat Singh said that Mata Mahinder Kaur, one of Punjab’s fearless farmer mothers, became a symbol of strength and dignity during the farmers’ protest, inspiring women across the nation. “Today, by compelling Kangana Ranaut to apologise in court, Bibi Mahinder Kaur has delivered a powerful message to every hate-monger who dared insult Punjab and its farmers,” he said.
The Congress leader noted that Kangana’s apology marks a moral victory for Punjab’s women. “Bibi Mahinder Kaur’s courage and determination forced Kangana to bow her head in remorse, thereby upholding the pride of Punjabi women. I salute her for her grace, resilience, and unshakeable spirit,” he added.
Pargat Singh emphasised that Punjabis are known for their generosity and forgiving nature, but warned that repeated insults would not be tolerated. “While Punjabis are quick to forgive those who show genuine regret, public figures like Kangana Ranaut must learn to act responsibly and avoid hurting people’s sentiments. She should have apologised long ago for her derogatory remarks during the farmers’ protest,” he said.
He further criticised Kangana for her repeated controversial statements, saying, “As a Member of Parliament and a popular public figure, Kangana should remember that her words carry weight. A mistake made unknowingly can be forgiven once, but repeating it deliberately becomes a sin that cannot be excused.”
Calling the incident a valuable lesson for the actor-turned-politician, Pargat Singh said that it is a reminder that freedom of speech must always be exercised with respect and responsibility. “The people of India, especially Punjabis, expect their representatives to uphold dignity in public life,” he concluded.
