Three new Aam Aadmi Clinics to strengthen health services in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, November 3, 2025: In a move to further enhance health facilities in the district, a meeting of the District Health Society was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Major Amit Sareen. The meeting focused on discussions regarding the establishment of three newly approved Ayushman Arogya Centres / Aam Aadmi Clinics in the district.
It was announced that the Punjab Government has approved the establishment of two new Ayushman Arogya Centres / Aam Aadmi Clinics in Ferozepur city — one near the Sokar Canal and another near the Markfed Office on Malwal Road — while the third centre will be set up inside the Central Jail, Ferozepur. The necessary budget for these centres has been sanctioned, and instructions have been issued to begin the construction work at the earliest.
ADC directed the concerned officials to ensure the timely completion of construction and make necessary arrangements for the smooth functioning of these clinics. He stated that the health mission initiated by the Punjab Government has been proven successful, as thousands of people are already benefiting from quality healthcare services through the existing Aam Aadmi Clinics.
Currently, 28 Ayushman Arogya Centres / Aam Aadmi Clinics are operational in the district, providing primary healthcare services near people’s homes. These clinics also conduct screening for non-communicable diseases and cancer. The Punjab Government has further expanded the facilities to include ANC check-ups for pregnant women, child immunization, and anti-rabies vaccinations.
He also instructed that appointments of doctors and supporting staff in the new clinics be completed promptly so that the centres can be made operational soon.
Prominent among those present at the meeting were Dr. Sushma Thakkar (Assistant Civil Surgeon), Dr. Gurmej Ram (Deputy Medical Commissioner), Dr. Satinder Singh (Deputy DEO, Secondary Education), Komal Arora (Deputy DEO, Elementary Education), Ankush Bhandari (Deputy Mass Media Officer), Harish Kataria (District Programme Manager), all SMOs, and officials from various departments.
