HC defers Bikram Majithia’s bail hearing to November 10 in DA case
Chandigarh, November 7: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday adjourned Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia’s bail plea in the disproportionate-assets case to Monday, granting no interim relief after extensive arguments from both sides.
Court proceedings: The bench heard detailed submissions but reserved any order, listing the matter for November 10, when a decision on bail is expected.
Case background: Majithia was arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau on June 25 from his Amritsar residence in a disproportionate-assets case and has been lodged in Nabha Jail since his arrest.
Next steps: The bail plea will be taken up again on Monday, when the court may pronounce its decision following Friday’s arguments.
