Al-Falah University denies links with arrested Professors in Faridabad Explosives case
Faridabad (Haryana), November 12, 2025: The Al-Falah University administration on Wednesday distanced itself from two of its faculty members—Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganai and Dr. Adeel Rather—who were arrested after Haryana Police recovered 360 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate, an assault rifle, and other ammunition in Faridabad on November 10.
A Haryana Police Crime Branch team visited the residence of Dr. Muzammil earlier in the day as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials had also conducted a search at Al-Falah University, where the accused were employed.
In an official statement, University Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bhupinder Kaur Anand clarified that the institution had “no connection” with the two arrested individuals beyond their official employment. “We are deeply saddened and anguished by the unfortunate developments and condemn the same. The University has no involvement with the said persons apart from them serving in their professional capacity,” the statement read.
Rejecting social media reports alleging the use or storage of explosives or hazardous chemicals on campus, the Vice Chancellor said, “No such chemical or material, as is being alleged, is being used, stored, or handled within University premises. All laboratory activities are strictly for academic purposes and comply with safety and regulatory norms.”
Meanwhile, sources confirmed that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has formed a special team to investigate the recent Delhi car blast case, suspected to be linked to a Jaish-e-Mohammad module uncovered by Indian agencies.
The Faridabad case is being closely monitored for any possible connections to the Delhi blast probe.
