Ferozepur gives grand welcome to Nagar Kirtan dedicated to 350th Martyrdom Day of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji
MLAs Bhullar, Dahiya, DC, SSP honour Panj Pyare as sacred procession moves towards Sri Anandpur Sahib
Ferozepur, November 20, 2025: The Nagar Kirtan taken out by the Punjab Government to mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Hind Di Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji received an enthusiastic and devotional welcome upon its arrival in Ferozepur. MLA Ferozepur Rural, Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya, along with administrative officials, welcomed the procession at village Golewala.
Later, at 7 Number Chungi Chowk and Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib, MLA Ferozepur Urban Ranbir Singh Bhullar, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma and SSP Bhupinder Singh, honoured the Panj Pyare by presenting them with robes of honour.
As the divine Nagar Kirtan reached Gurdwara Saragarhi Sahib, Punjab Police personnel paid a ceremonial salute to Guru Sahib Ji with band tunes. Students of Government Primary School Ferozeshah and Guru Ramdas Public School, Armanpura, also saluted the procession with their school bands.
The Nagar Kirtan then moved onward through Shaheed Udham Singh Chowk and Malwal Road towards Gurdwara Sri Jamni Sahib, Bazidpur.
Speaking on the occasion at Golewala, MLA Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya described the Nagar Kirtan as a commendable initiative of the Punjab Government, undertaken to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. He informed that this grand Nagar Kirtan—one of four—began this morning from the meditation site of Baba Farid Ji at the historic Qila Mubarak in Faridkot. The yatra will traverse through Ferozepur, Moga, Jagraon, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Chamkaur Sahib before reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22.
MLA Bhullar, who joined the procession at 7 Number Chungi in the Cantonment area, said that these sacred ceremonies will inspire future generations with Guru Ji’s timeless message of peace, compassion, and religious freedom. He added that the Punjab Government will organise grand religious events at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to 25.
