- PU Senate Election Schedule Likely to Be Announced Soon By Ravi Jakhu Chandigarh, November 20, 2025: After students announced a shutdown of Panjab University Campus on November 26, a major update has emerged indicating that the long-pending demand for issuing the Senate election schedule may soon be fulfilled. According to information, Panjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig is scheduled to meet the Chancellor in Delhi tomorrow. The meeting will primarily focus on the ongoing student protests and the current situation inside the university. PU Registrar Prof. Yadvinder Pal Verma has also stated that a solution regarding the announcement of the Senate election schedule is expected soon. Meanwhile, after holding meetings with various student groups today, the protesting students have declared that Panjab University will be shut on November 26. They have also indicated plans to intensify the agitation. Some groups have even mentioned that BJP offices may be gheraoed in the next phase of the protest.
