Chandigarh, November 25, 2025: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan announced that this year’s mock student session will be held at the temporary Punjab Vidhan Sabha in Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 26—Constitution Day—rather than in Chandigarh. The session will also serve as a tribute to the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.
Sandhwan said that when a government commits not just to educating children but also to teaching them how to live, education becomes a transformative force. “This revolution has taken shape on the soil of Punjab,” he stated.
Students from government schools across the state have been selected to take on the roles of Chief Minister, Speaker, Ministers, MLAs, and the Opposition, giving them firsthand experience of democratic functioning. Calling it a historic initiative, the Speaker said the exercise aims to connect education with the workings of a democratic system.
He extended warm wishes to all participating students, teachers, school staff and parents attending the session.
