Chandigarh, November 28, 2025 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini strongly rebuked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday, urging him not to politicise sensitive matters, especially those involving public safety and inter-state relations.
He added that the Aam Aadmi Party, led by Arvind Kejriwal, had come to power in Punjab promising to eradicate drug abuse within a month, yet the state continues to grapple with widespread addiction and rising crime rates. “Instead of taking tough action, the Punjab Chief Minister is blaming others. This is not what the people expect,” Saini said.
Saini also responded sharply to Mann’s visit to Rohtak on Thursday following the deaths of two teenagers in separate basketball pole collapse incidents in Lakhan Majra and Bahadurgarh. While acknowledging Mann’s gesture of meeting the grieving families, the Haryana CM said such visits should not be used to score political points. “Sharing grief is humane, but politicising these tragedies is not acceptable,” he remarked.
The Haryana CM further highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently taken initiatives to honour Sikh history and values. He cited landmark steps such as the return of three sacred saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan and the construction of the Kartarpur Corridor. According to Saini, these actions reflect the Centre’s deep respect for Sikh traditions, while parties like AAP and Congress “attempt to create divisions through misleading narratives.”
Saini emphasised that his government is committed to ensuring safety in sports facilities and improving infrastructure, adding that investigations into the recent incidents are underway.
