PAU urges farmers to shield Rabi crops as harsh winter approaches

Ludhiana (Punjab), December 4 , 2025— As severe winter conditions approach, agricultural experts at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have urged farmers to take extra precautions to protect rabi crops, including wheat, fruits, vegetables, and flowers.
The advisory was issued during the monthly PAU Kisan Club training camp, held under the guidance of Dr. T.S. Dhillon, Additional Director of Extension Education and Communication.
The camp witnessed the participation of 85 farmer members, who received guidance from PAU experts on key winter-season crop challenges.
Dr. Manpreet Singh discussed effective weed management in rabi crops, while Dr. A.S. Toor highlighted the significance of micronutrients for crop health. Dr. P.S. Tak briefed farmers on major disease-control measures necessary during the cold season.
Additionally, a special lecture on oral health was delivered by Dr. P.S. Sidhu from Sidhu Dental Care and Homeo Hospital, emphasizing the importance of dental care in overall well-being.
Satvir Singh, Secretary of the club, welcomed the experts and participants, while Club President Manpreet Grewal extended a vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Varinder Singh from Kairon Kisan Ghar.
