  Chandigarh, January 3, 2026: After withdrawing financial powers of Chandigarh Administrator and Lieutenant Governors of various UTs, Centre has restored these powers. Under this arrangement they will be empowered to approve development projects upto Rs. 100 crores.
  
  Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued formal orders in this regards yesterday.
  
  Order will also apply to Andaman and Nicobar islands, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Lakshadweep.
