Chandigarh, January 5, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has expressed his humility and devotion towards Sri Akal Takht Sahib, stating that he will fully comply with the orders received from the Sikh religious authority. He announced that on January 15, he will appear at Sri Akal Takht Sahib not as the Chief Minister, but as a humble Sikh, walking barefoot in accordance with Sikh tradition.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the supremacy of Sri Akal Takht Sahib is paramount for him. He also informed that he is scheduled to attend an important conference at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, where the country’s President, Droupadi Murmu, will be present. Mann apologized in advance for not being able to attend the presidential program, stating that the command and sanctity of the Guru Sahib take precedence over all administrative engagements.
Emotionally addressing the media, CM Mann said, “For me, the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib have always been, are, and will always remain above all else.”
