Haryana CM Saini: Healthy citizens are key to a strong economy and a self-reliant India

Chandigarh, January 6, 2026: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday said that healthy citizens form the backbone of a strong society, a robust economy, and a self-reliant nation. He emphasized that a healthy individual contributes not only to the well-being of his family but also to the overall development of society.
The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of Sovaka Lab in Gurugram. On the occasion, Chairman of Dr. Lal Path Labs and Padma Shri awardee Brigadier Dr. Arvind Lal welcomed and felicitated the Chief Minister.
Highlighting the state government’s initiatives in the healthcare sector, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the Haryana Government is continuously working to make modern diagnostic and treatment facilities accessible to the common people. Under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, advanced services such as CT scans, MRI, haemodialysis, and Cath Lab facilities are being provided across the state.
He informed that the state government is currently offering free dialysis services to kidney patients and is expanding access to various other healthcare facilities. Emphasising the importance of diagnostic laboratories, the Chief Minister said timely health check-ups play a crucial role in preventing serious diseases.
Gurugram Emerging as a Medical and Health Hub
The Chief Minister said Gurugram is rapidly progressing on the development front and is emerging as a Medical and Health Hub. He noted that the establishment of Sovaka Lab marks another milestone in strengthening health security and will further enhance the quality of healthcare services in the region. He also urged the laboratory management to extend special facilities for the poor and needy.
Industry and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Gurugram MLA Sh. Mukesh Sharma, Pataudi MLA Smt. Bimla Chaudhary, and other dignitaries were present at the event.
