Ferozepur, January 6, 2026: Fifteen high-achieving students studying in Class 11 from government schools in Ferozepur district have been sent on an educational tour to Ahmedabad (Gujarat) via air travel. Under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains, and the Education Department, District Education Officer (Secondary) Mrs Munila Arora and Deputy District Education Officer Dr Satinder Singh have organised this initiative.
As part of the Rashtriya Aavishkar Abhiyan, top-performing students in medical and non-medical streams from Class 11 in each block’s government schools are being taken on a five-day inter-state exposure visit to places of scientific and historical importance outside Punjab. The primary objective is to spark interest in science among the students.
Providing details on the occasion, Block Nodal Officer and Coordinator Sanjeev Tandon said that a total of 80 students were selected from the district’s 10 blocks. Of these, 65 students in two groups have already been sent to Jaipur, and as per departmental instructions, the first batch of 15 top students along with two teachers has been flown to Ahmedabad.
During the tour, the students will visit prominent sites including IIM Ahmedabad, Gujarat Science City, Rani ki Vav, Sun Temple, Sabarmati Ashram, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Museum, Kankaria Lake, Sabarmati Riverfront, and several other historically significant locations.
It is noteworthy that the Punjab government is fully funding the students’ stay in a four-star hotel, round-trip air travel expenses, and other arrangements.
