Mayank Foundation delegation calls on DC over upcoming National Road Safety Month initiatives
Ferozepur, January 6, 2025: A delegation of Mayank Foundation, Ferozepur today met the Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur to discuss proposed activities for the upcoming National Road Safety Month. The meeting focused on collaborative efforts to strengthen road safety awareness and promote responsible behaviour among road users across the district.
Secretary Rajiv setia informed, During the interaction, Mayank Foundation apprised the Deputy Commissioner about its comprehensive plan to organize a series of road safety awareness seminars in schools, colleges, and universities, aimed at sensitizing students and young citizens about traffic rules, safe driving practices, and pedestrian safety.
The Foundation also proposed to conduct special workshops for school bus drivers, focusing on safe driving, child safety norms, and emergency response, to ensure safer transportation for school-going children.
In addition, eye check-up camps for truck and commercial vehicle drivers will be organized to address vision-related issues, a key factor contributing to road accidents.
As part of direct on-ground intervention, Mayank Foundation will distribute 100 safety helmets to delivery partners of platforms such as Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit and other e-commerce services, with the objective of promoting helmet usage and reducing head injuries among two-wheeler riders.
Other planned activities include an Awareness Cyclathon to promote safe and eco-friendly mobility, along with Nukkad Nataks (street plays) at prominent public places to effectively communicate road safety messages to the general public.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the proactive initiatives of Mayank Foundation in the field of road safety awareness and assured full cooperation from the district administration for the successful conduct of National Road Safety Month activities.
It’s noteworthy that Mayank Foundation is empaneled with Lead Agency on Road safety, Ministery of Transport , Government of Punjab. Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to achieving the vision of safer roads and zero fatalities, in alignment with national road safety goals.
