Chandigarh, January 9, 2026— Punjab Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian has lauded the "Easy Registry" initiative as a revolutionary success, revealing that over 3,70,967 property documents were registered between its launch in July and December 2025.
The Minister emphasized that the system has successfully dismantled the "VIP culture" and middlemen monopolies that previously plagued the state’s property registration process.
According to the data, December 2025 saw the highest activity with 76,377 registrations, signaling a sharp rise in public confidence.
Key to this success is the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) principle and district-wide jurisdiction, which allows citizens to register property at any sub-registrar office within their district.
The system also features an automated 48-hour online pre-scrutiny window, ensuring that any objections raised by officials are monitored by Deputy Commissioners to prevent harassment and corruption.
To further simplify the process, the government has integrated tools like the "Draft My Deed" module and WhatsApp status updates, allowing citizens to manage their property transactions with minimal physical visits to government offices.
Minister Mundian stated that these reforms have not only improved ease of doing business but have also significantly boosted the state's revenue collections by creating a transparent, time-bound, and user-friendly environment.
