Railway to run special train for 350th martyrdom anniversary of ‘Hind Ki Chadar’
Ferozepur, January 20, 2026: Northern Railway has announced a special train service to facilitate pilgrims on the occasion of the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of ‘Hind Ki Chadar’ Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, to be observed at Hazur Sahib, Nanded, on January 24 and 25, 2026.
Added here, Hind Ki Chadar (Shield of India) is the revered title for Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, famous for his supreme sacrifice to protect religious freedom.
According to the revised press release issued by the Public Relations Office, Northern Railway, the special train No. 04642/04641 Amritsar–Cherlapalli–Amritsar will operate for two trips. The train will depart from Amritsar on January 23 and 24, 2026, and return from Cherlapally on January 26 and 27, 2026.
The train will comprise Sleeper and General class coaches and will halt at major stations including Beas, Jalandhar City, Phagwara, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt, Panipat, Delhi Safdarjung, Agra Cantt, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi, Bhopal, Itarsi, Khandwa, Bhusaval, Jalgaon, Manmad, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Purna, Nanded, Nizamabad, Kamareddi and Bolarum, before terminating at Cherlapally.
