British Columbia Task Force investigating 111 foreign nationals mostly Punjabis for extortion cases, Chilling details of Punjabi gangster also out

Ottawa, January 24, 2026: British Columbia Task Force established by Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in 2025 is investigating 111 foreign nations in extortion case. Strangely most of these 111 persons are Punjabis.
Though force sources have said that investigation was progressing based on evidence and not on targeting any community. Investigation is being carried out on basis of CCTV footage, digital and forensic material.
Meanwhile chilling details on Punjabi Gangsters operating from foreign soil have also emerged. According to a report of The Tribune, there 61 big Punjabi Gangsters operating from foreign soil and 18 of them are operating from US soil, 9 are operating fro UAE, 6 each from Canada and Germany, 5 each from UK and Europe, 3 each from Australia and Portugal, 2 each from Thailand and Malaysia, one each from Pakistan, Italy, Brazil and Indonesia. Report claimed that these details have been compiled by Punjab Police. Police has also established Overseas Fugitive Tracking & Extradition Cell to being these criminals back to country so that they can face law of the land.
