Railway successfully operates special train from Jalandhar City to Banaras City
Ferozepur, January 29, 2026: To accommodate the growing rush of passengers and ensure a comfortable journey, the Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway successfully operated a special train (Number 00468) from Jalandhar City to Banaras City today. The train departed from platform number one of Jalandhar City Railway Station at its scheduled time of 15:40 hours.
In anticipation of the high passenger volume, the Ferozepur Division implemented comprehensive arrangements to ensure a safe, systematic, and smooth movement of commuters. A heavy deployment of RPF, GRP, Scouts and Guides, and ticket-checking staff was stationed across the platform, circulating area, booking counters, and Foot Over Bridges (FOB) to manage queues and maintain crowd control.
Paramdeep Singh Saini, Sr DCM said, the public announcement system was utilized at regular intervals to provide real-time updates regarding the special train's departure and boarding procedures, additional cleaning staff wedeployed to maintain high standards of cleanliness in toilets, waiting rooms, and general station premises. Besides ensuring the availability of adequate drinking water and catering services at the station and to assist senior citizens and Divyangjan (specially-abled) passengers, a sufficient number of functional wheelchairs were made available at the station.
The railway administration expressed its gratitude to the passengers for their cooperation during the boarding process. Commuters traveling on Special Train 00468 lauded the Ferozepur Division for the robust arrangements and the hassle-free travel experience provided at Jalandhar City.
