SSP Sidhu vows crime-free Ferozepur as police arrest 21; recover haul of 29 vehicles, 93 mobiles
Ferozepur, February 5, 2026: In a breakthrough against the narcotics and illegal arms trade, the Ferozepur Police, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, have apprehended 21 accused individuals in a series of coordinated operations across the district in seven cases registered at Ferozepur City and Cantt police stations. The breakthrough was disclosed by the SSP during a media briefing held today, following a high-level meeting with local citizens where the district police chief reaffirmed his commitment to making Ferozepur a crime-free and drug-free zone.
Addressing the media, SSP Sidhu stated that the police have been working on specific intelligence to dismantle the supply chains of various smuggling modules. During the meeting with residents, he emphasised the importance of public-police cooperation in identifying anti-social elements. "Our mission is clear: we will not allow the youth of Ferozepur to be held hostage by the drug menace. These 21 arrests are a testament to our ongoing offensive against cross-border and local smuggling networks," the SSP remarked.
The 21 arrested accused have been identified as Aman alias Chuha, Thomas, Mosam Gill, Michel alias Ashu, Hira, Suchha, Yash Advin, Gagan, Rahul, Ajay Kumar, Lakhwinder Singh, Ranjit Singh, Vikas alias Akash, Sanam, Oha alias Akash, Sajan, Aandeep Singh alias Sajan, and Abdul alias Abhi.
The total recoveries made during these operations include 27 motorcycles, 2 Activa scooters, 33 mobile phones, gold and silver ornaments, Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, 4 LEDs, 2 cylinders, 2 inverter sets, one washing machine, and various grocery items. Furthermore, the police successfully recovered 60 lost mobile phones.
SSP Sidhu assured the citizens that the police, with its active team of officers at all levels, would continue to conduct intensive search operations until the district is completely purged of illicit activities.
