Dr. Kiran Bedi launches ‘Kiran Bedi Leadership Learnings Program’ at CGC University Mohali
Initiative to connect students with the philosophy of ‘Fearless Governance’ during Sahityam 2026

Mohali (Punjab), February 7, 2026: CGC University Mohali marked the beginning of a new chapter in the fields of education and leadership with the formal launch of the ‘Kiran Bedi Leadership Learnings Program’ during its annual literary festival Sahityam 2026. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Kiran Bedi, India’s first woman IPS officer and former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.
Addressing the students on this occasion, Dr. Kiran Bedi emphasized the urgent need for principled and courageous leadership in contemporary times. She stated that “the foundation of fearless governance lies in personal discipline and social responsibility.” She inspired students to cultivate courage, integrity, and a strong commitment to public welfare.
Under the Kiran Bedi Leadership Learnings Program, the ‘Fearless Leadership and Entrepreneurship Challenge’ was also launched. The initiative comprises two major phases.
The first phase, Governance Innovation Track, will encourage students to present reform-oriented models at the campus and startup levels.
The second phase, Leadership-in-Action Simulation, will test students’ decision-making abilities in real-life, high-pressure scenarios. Outstanding performing teams will be awarded Merit Certificates.
Speaking on the occasion, Arsh Dhaliwal, Managing Director of CGC University, Mohali, shared that under the guidance of Dr. Kiran Bedi, the program will be developed into a structured certificate course in the near future.
The primary objective is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world administrative challenges. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to nurturing ethical and socially responsible leaders alongside academic excellence.
Rachhpal Singh Dhaliwal, Founder Chancellor of CGC University, Mohali and recipient of the prestigious international Father of Education award, expressed that the launch of this program by Dr. Kiran Bedi during Sahityam 2026 highlights the university’s broader vision of creating future leaders equipped with intellectual depth and moral courage. By integrating the ideals of fearless governance into its academic ecosystem, CGC University has taken a significant step towards developing an empowered new generation aligned with the nation’s progressive vision.
