Chandigarh, February 22, 2026: Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress while addressing the Purvanchal Samman Rally in Ludhiana, alleging that AAP has “gone four steps ahead” of Congress in corruption.
The Haryana Chief Minister said that even after four years in power, AAP has failed to fulfil the promises made to the people of Punjab. He alleged that both Congress and AAP are deeply involved in corruption, adding that while Congress “gave birth to corruption,” AAP has allowed it to grow further.
Praising the large turnout at the rally, Saini described Ludhiana as Punjab’s industrial capital and the “Manchester of India,” and paid tribute to the hardworking spirit of the city. He said Punjab is the land of Gurus, saints and brave warriors, calling it the soul of India and the guardian of the nation’s borders. According to him, the rally was not merely an event but a message of political change.
Taking a dig at AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Saini said the party, which once projected itself as the epitome of honesty, has seen several of its leaders, including Kejriwal, face jail. He claimed that the people of Punjab have made up their minds to remove both Congress and AAP from power and bring a BJP government to the state.
Highlighting Haryana’s governance model, Saini said his government is fulfilling its commitments at a rapid pace. He stated that women in Haryana are being provided LPG cylinders at Rs 500 and that free dialysis facilities are available for kidney patients in government hospitals and medical colleges. He further said Haryana is the first state in the country to procure all crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP) and that around two lakh youth have secured jobs through a transparent recruitment process.
Under the Ayushman/Chirayu scheme, he said, free medical treatment has been extended to 27 lakh families, with expenditure amounting to Rs 4,500 crore. He also mentioned that special healthcare focus is being given to senior citizens above 70 years of age. Referring to the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, he said eligible women receive Rs 2,100 per month and can avail loans up to Rs 5 lakh at 4 percent interest to promote self-reliance.
The Chief Minister alleged that instead of curbing drug abuse, AAP has allowed it to spread in Punjab. He asserted that if the BJP forms the government in 2027, strict action will be taken against drug traffickers and gangster culture will be eradicated. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi believes in development-oriented politics and assured that all central schemes would be fully implemented in Punjab under a BJP government.
Saini also accused AAP of indulging in petty politics by allegedly stopping people and vehicles from attending the rally, terming it a reflection of poor political mindset.
Appealing to the gathering, he urged voters to bring the BJP to power in Punjab in 2027 to make the state number one.
During the programme, BJP State Working President Ashwani Sharma and rally organiser Rajesh Mishra also addressed the audience, calling for the formation of a BJP government in the upcoming Assembly elections. Ludhiana District President Rajneesh Dhiman and several other party leaders and dignitaries were present on the occasion.
