Gurdaspur Double Murder: Accused confesses, one dead, one still on the run

Gurdaspur (Punjab), February 27, 2026: In a major development in the double murder case of two police personnel at a checkpoint in Gurdaspur, accused Dilawar Singh has reportedly confessed to his role in the crime while in police custody.
According to sources, Dilawar Singh made the statement when he was brought to the Civil Hospital for a medical examination. During the visit, he admitted that he, along with Inderjit Singh and Ranjit Singh, was involved in the killing of the two policemen at the checkpoint.
It may be recalled that Ranjit Singh was killed in an encounter with the police following the incident, while the second accused, Inderjit Singh, remains absconding.
