SGPC will honor Sikh students who cleared UPSC exam with Rs 1 lakh each - Advocate Dhami

Amritsar (Punjab) , March 7, 2026: Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, congratulated the Sikh students who passed the UPSC examination and were selected for higher administrative services and announced that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee would honor them with a sum of Rs 1 lakh.
In a press statement issued by the office, Advocate Dhami said that achieving success in a tough exam like UPSC is a symbol of hard work, dedication and determination of the youth.
He said that the students who passed the exam, Simrandeep Kaur and Sunwardeep Singh, along with other Sikh students, have not only brought glory to their parents by passing the competitive exam of UPSC, but it is also a matter of pride for the Sikh community.
Expressing happiness, he said that the girl Simrandeep Kaur, who secured 15th position from all over the country, is a student of Khalsa College Patiala, which is run by the Shiromani Committee.
Advocate Dhami said that the Shiromani Committee is constantly trying to encourage Sikh students to take up competitive examinations. The Shiromani Committee President said that the Shiromani Committee will honor the Sikh students who pass the UPSC examination with an amount of one lakh rupees each as an encouragement.
The Shiromani Committee President said that the Shiromani Committee has always been trying to help the youth move forward in the field of education and will continue to be active in the same way in the future.
He specifically mentioned that a special amount will be kept for the preparation of administrative examinations in the upcoming budget of the Shiromani Committee, with which the needy Gursikh children will be supported in this field.
He congratulated the students and their families and wished them a bright future.
