New Delhi, March 9, 2026: The Delhi High Court on Monday issued notices to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and 21 others in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy Case.
The notices were issued while hearing an appeal filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which has challenged a trial court order that discharged all 23 accused in the case.
The trial court had earlier ruled in favour of the accused, dismissing the charges and granting them relief. However, the CBI has moved the High Court seeking to set aside that order and allow further proceedings in the case.
During the hearing, the High Court sought responses from the accused and scheduled the next hearing for March 16.
The case relates to alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy, which has been under investigation by central agencies for alleged corruption and policy violations.
