Railway to run 144 Special Train trips for Navratri and Eid rush
Ferozepur, March 18, 2026: In view of the heavy rush of passengers during Chaitra Navratri and Jamat-ul-Vida, Northern Railway has announced the operation of several special trains to facilitate convenient travel for devotees and other passengers.
According to an official statement issued on March 18, a total of 144 special train trips will be operated on different routes during the festive season.
The special services will include trains from New Delhi to Supaul, Anand Vihar Terminal to Laukaha Bazar, Varanasi Junction to Lucknow, Amritsar Junction to Jaynagar, Anand Vihar Terminal to Ballia, Amritsar Junction to New Jalpaiguri Junction, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to Budgam, and New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, along with their return services.
These trains will have a combination of air-conditioned, sleeper and general class coaches depending on the route and passenger demand. The services will be operated between March 17 and April 4, 2026.
Among the major services announced are four trips each between New Delhi and Supaul, seven trips from Amritsar to Jaynagar, two trips each between Anand Vihar Terminal and Ballia, two trips each between Amritsar and New Jalpaiguri, 17 trips between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Budgam/Banihal, and 14 trips each between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
