Ludhiana (Punjab), March 31, 2026: Commuters passing through the Ladowal Toll Plaza will have to pay more from April 1, as revised toll rates come into effect.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced an increase of ₹5 in toll charges at the plaza, which is already considered one of the costliest in the state.
According to officials, the new rates will be implemented from midnight tonight.
As per a notification issued on March 27, toll rates have been increased marginally across categories. Cars, jeeps and vans will now pay ₹225 for a single journey, up from ₹220, while a round trip will cost ₹340 instead of ₹335.
For light commercial vehicles (LCV), light goods vehicles (LGV) and minibuses, the single-trip toll has been raised to ₹365 from ₹360, and the return journey will now cost ₹550 compared to the earlier ₹545.
The monthly pass has also been revised slightly, increasing by ₹10 to ₹350. Meanwhile, the annual pass for long-distance commercial vehicles and frequent commuters has gone up from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075, allowing up to 200 trips.
Officials said the toll revision is part of the standard annual exercise linked to the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), with rates determined based on factors such as highway length, infrastructure like flyovers and underpasses, and overall maintenance facilities.
