Chandigarh, April 5, 2026:Internal tensions within the Aam Aadmi Party have escalated into the open after senior leaders publicly criticised Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha for allegedly failing to effectively raise Punjab’s key issues in Parliament.
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, state president Aman Arora, and Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, in a joint statement, expressed disappointment over Chadha’s “silence.”
They alleged that crucial financial concerns, including nearly ₹8,500 crore in Rural Development Fund (RDF) dues and around ₹60,000 crore in GST-related losses, were not raised in Parliament.
The leaders stated that Chadha was expected to be a strong national voice for Punjab but alleged that his “inaction” goes against the party’s core principles.
Chadha Hits Back: “Picture Abhi Baaki Hai”
Responding to the allegations, Raghav Chadha issued a rebuttal on social media, sharing a video compilation of his parliamentary interventions. In a pointed message, he remarked that the clip was only a “trailer,” adding, “the full picture is still left,” suggesting more evidence would follow. He emphasised that Punjab is not merely a political issue for him but his home, duty, and identity.
The video highlights multiple issues raised by Chadha in the Rajya Sabha, including matters related to the Kartarpur Sahib and Nankana Sahib corridors, the “cancer train” from Bathinda and patient concerns, Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers, pollution attributed to Punjab, and the demand to confer Bharat Ratna on Bhagat Singh.
