Barnala (Punjab), April 8, 2026 – Barnala district has secured the top position in Punjab for the lowest pendency rate of applications on the E-Sewa portal, with just 0.16% cases pending.
Deputy Commissioner Harpreet Singh said that a total of 1,08,287 applications were received through the E-Sewa and Connect portals between August 4, 2025, and April 7, 2026.
Out of these, 97,086 applications were disposed of within the stipulated time, while 9,613 are under process, and 1,588 were returned due to various reasons. He added that more than 450 types of services are being provided through 14 Sewa Kendras across the district.
As per the directions of the Punjab government, all departments have been instructed to ensure time-bound disposal of applications to avoid inconvenience to citizens.
Municipal Commissioner Harpreet Singh stated that the Municipal Corporation is also ensuring timely delivery of services. Notably, pendency of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) under the E-Naksha portal currently stands at zero.
He further highlighted the “Sarkar Tuhade Dwar” initiative, under which citizens can access over 420 government services through Doorstep Delivery (DSD) by calling 1076.
The service allows residents to track applications online, with a Sewa Sahayak delivering certificates and documents directly to their homes, eliminating the need to stand in queues.
